i think the devs are laughing at us now, thinking that spending about 1 hour making a frog spew random garbage is causing people to start all these boards and get all serious.

relax i think one of the devs just got over creative/board. no big deal

There are ghosts in the desert. So why couldn't there be a ghostly armorer/crafter in the furnace?

If there's a SF armorer, you'll probably have to go through a series of quests to revive him, or get him to appear.

The Frog probably just want to tell that there will be armor crafter quest but armorer has been slain. Your job is to somehow bring him/her alive so wanted armor can be crafted. I hope SF armor won't be just for looks but have higher stats for SF areas.

come on, the expansion is coming in January (althought i know it will get delay till A-net can make it bug-proof and test it to make sure it runs well) So we don't really need new armors that badly with huge update.

Heck, i want to see new armors too but think about it, would A-net really take their time and create new set of armors for all 6 class of character? and would they create better 15k type armors? Armors take long time to code into the game and they would have to keep it from being exploit.

At least they should make unique graphics for each fissure armor set before Chapter 2.

I like how the toggeling of capes which very few people (read: "popular") care about is 'supported' while PvP suggestions simply come from a 'minority.' I love you Arena Net!

As for new armors, I'll be happy if they just make a 15k version of Knights armor...Looks like it's out there already, I think Barradin is wearing it, they just need to make it available for purchase.

Sadly but true, the Sorrows Furnace page on GuildWars.com has no mention of any new armors available, so I guess any speculation at this point is moot, and that there won't be any new armors until the next expansion.

It does mention new weapons, more collectors, and "vendors sell items that you may have acquired in the past, but in versions that make them more useful or valuable". I'm going to take it as meaning that you can now upgrades items to max stats

First Half of 2006 does not mean January. We have not set a month.

I would save for Fissure Armor; as far as I know, there is no new armor for Sorrow's Furnace.

There will be a lot of new things in the next chapter, you can count on it!

Actually, the cape toggle is a hugely popular notion so it's definitely something we would want to offer at some point in the future. And just to clarify: We (the dev team) do not consider PvPers a "minority" in any sense of the word. PvPers are an extremely important focus of our game, and will remain so forever. I'm sorry the phrase was misused, and assure you that the dev team does not see you in that way and never has.

Thanks for your input Gaile, especially answering the question on armour; I'm in the same position as Crush.

As for rubies and sapphires, who said they won't be needed for weapon crafters in the furnace... There may very well be a hard to reach crafter, but it could easily be for weapons and/or offhands.. or even mods.

Rubbies and Saphirres could be needed for Wands... new head for a wand (I can wish).
